What to Expect at Your Session
So you booked your session. Now what?
Via e-mail we’ll discuss location, wardrobe selection, and answer any questions you have.
During the shoot I’ll provide direction, and my goal is for your photos to feel natural and true to you.
Don’t worry about everyone standing perfectly still and smiling at the camera. Yes we’ll get those standard shots too, but the we’ll capture the way your kids are with you, the little personalities, the chaos, the connection, and all the things you’ll want to remember about this season of life.
Here are a few simple tips to help you prepare for your session.
-
That’s OK, but you won’t be posing much! While we'll capture everyone smiling and looking at the camera, the main goal is less stiff posing, more fun prompts and movement. Think of it like a play date with your kids that involves lots of cuddles, tickles and hugs.

Sessions are quick and fun, and should last no more than an hour. Please be on time as our session relies on light!

Please don’t stress about this! I have little ones too, and I’ve seen the full range of moods and personalities. Shy, wild, silly, serious, slow to warm up... I get it! I’ll follow their lead and give them the time and space they need. We don’t need to force smiles or make them perform. My goal is to capture who they really are.

Tell them you are going to play and meet a friend with a camera, keep it low-pressure. Ensure they are well-rested beforehand. Depending on the time and age, a late nap or some quiet time prior to the session can help.

Such a common one!
